Tapping Sleeves Specifications

Tapping sleeves shall be ductile iron construction meeting ASTM A536 Grade 65-45-12. Side flange seals shall be of the O-Ring type of either round, oval, or rectangular cross-sectional shape.

Sizes 12" and smaller must be capable of working on Class ABCD pipe diameters without changing either half of sleeve.

Sizes 14" and larger must be specified as to which class is needed.

All sleeves are to include the end joint accessories and split glands necessary to assemble sleeve to pipe. No special tools to be required other than a standard socket wrench.

Sleeve shall be coated with asphaltic varnish in compliance with NSF-61.
