American Flow Control can provide tapping valves for sizes 4"- 48". Pressure rating 250 p.s.i.g.
Tapping valves 4"-48" are furnished with a raised male face on the end flange which fits into a recess on the American Flow Control manufactured tapping sleeve. This fit assures proper alignment between the sleeve and valve which permits easy passage of the cutter during the tapping procedure.
The Series 2500 is made of ductile iron and rated at 250 p.s.i.g. The Series 2500 4"-48" will accept full-size shell cutters.
SPECIFICATIONS
RESILIENT SEATED TAPPING VALVES
Tapping valves shall be resilient seat type with bodies and bonnets made of ductile iron for 250 p.s.i.g. working pressure. The mating valve flange to the tapping sleeve outlet must have a raised male face, conforming to MSS SP-60, to ensure true alignment of valve and tapping sleeve. The outlet end of the valve shall have the desired joint connection for the
intended pipe.
All interior and exterior ferrous surfaces shall be protected against corrosion by fusion-bonded-epoxy coating. Coating shall be applied prior to assembly to assure coverage of all exposed areas, including bolt holes.
Tapping valves shall be those manufactured by American Flow Control according to the following listing:
- 4"-48" Series 2500 Ductile Iron 250 p.s.i.g. rating (accepts full-size shell cutter).

Series 2500 Ductile Iron Resilient Seated Tapping Valve, 250 p.s.i.g. pressure rating
1. 4" through 36" valves meet or exceed requirements of ANSI/AWWA C515.
2. 4" through 16" valves may be ordered in configurations which are UL Listed and/or FM Approved.
3. 4" through 48" valves have 250 p.s.i.g. AWWA rated working pressure.
4. 4" through 12" valves have 250 p.s.i.g. UL and FM rated working pressure.
5. 14" and 16" valves have 200 p.s.i.g. UL and FM rated working pressure.
6. Fusion-bonded-epoxy coating meets or exceeds requirements of ANSI/AWWA C550.
7. Mechanical joint ends are in accordance with ANSI/AWWA C153/A21.53 and MSS SP-113.
8. Bolt patterns of flanged ends are in accordance with ANSI/AWWA C110/A21.10.
9. Raised pilot dimensions of flanged ends on tapping valves are in accordance with MSS SP-60.
10. Tapping valves are supplied with flanged-end hardware, including bolts, nuts, ring-type gasket. The flanged-end bolting is furnished standard in 304 stainless steel.
