Our giant dynamic two-plane balancing machine is used for precision balancing of large steel tubes, rolls, and rotating equipment within our plant. Believed to be the largest balancing machine ever built, the big unit extends precision balancing capability to very heavy tubular parts up to 70 inches outside diameter. The giant unit was installed along with a smaller balancing machine that utilizes the same stand, adding to AMERICAN CENTRIFUGAL's "under one roof" facilities for fulfilling the complete tubing requirements of our customers. Actual balancing of a tube or roll is a complex, interesting procedure. It resembles the process for balancing the tires on the car you drive. And just as vibration from an unbalanced tire can cause uneven wear, so can vibration from an unbalanced rotating machine part cause faulty production or shorten the life of all mating parts. Lengths up to 25 feet can be balanced. |
