AMERICAN Standard Metal Compositions
. . . any ferrous castable alloy.
One of the unique benefits available to customers of AMERICAN CENTRIFUGAL is the many metal types available. All ferrous castable alloys can be melted and poured at AMERICAN CENTRIFUGAL. One of the standard compositions, shown on the following pages, may be selected or metal may be melted to meet the specific needs of the customer.
Heat sizes are appropriate to the weight of the castings to be poured. Thus, it is not necessary to confine selection to available material, nor is it necessary to pay a premium if only a small heat is required.
Quicker shipments and other economies may result from the selection of one of the standard compositions shown on the following pages. However, if metal compositions or properties are needed which are not shown, consideration can be given to other specifications.
If preferable, the tensile or yield strengths may be specified, or hardness may be specified. Greater economy is achieved if the customer will list the desired properties and allow our metallurgical staff to suggest the appropriate composition and/or heat treatment to achieve the desired results.
