Profit sharing bonus plan – Based on profitability, AMERICAN pays bonuses up to four times a year. Bonuses are not guaranteed, but the plan has averaged paying bonuses of 10 to 15 percent since its inception.

401(k) plan – A diversified, tax-deferred investment plan employees may use to build a retirement nest egg. Eligibility begins on the first day of the month following employment. The company matches a percentage of the employee's contributions after six months.

Eagan Center for Wellness – Award-winning wellness program supports healthy lifestyles with its on-site fitness center, classes and ongoing programs offering rewards for participation.

Medical and dental insurance – For employees and eligible dependents, it covers medical care, dental care and prescription drugs at prescribed levels. Eligibility begins the first day of the month following employment. Also available is a tax-advantaged savings plan (flexible spending account) employees may use to pay for qualified medical expenses not covered by insurance.

Eagan College – On-site opportunities to develop leadership and management skills, learn craft trades, increase job knowledge and grow personally. Offers selected courses off site at no cost to employee.

Tuition Reimbursement – Eagan College includes tuition reimbursement for approved undergraduate- and graduate-level courses.

Group life insurance – AMERICAN provides $15,000 in life insurance without cost or medical examination to every regular employee. Employees have the option to purchase more coverage, including spouse and dependent coverage.

More group insurance options – Also available are voluntary long-term disability insurance and long-term care insurance.

Pension plan – Under the current plan, a normal retirement pension is possible for employees who work until age 60 and have at least 20 years of service.

Paid vacations and holidays – Up to four weeks of paid vacation per year based on length of service. Eleven paid holidays.

Employee assistance program – Confidential counseling and referrals for assistance during a variety of life situations.
