Campus recruiting

To supplement local recruiting, AMERICAN recruits nationwide for positions in sales, engineering, information services and business operations. Most of the job openings are in our Birmingham, Ala., location. Sales Division opportunities are in locations across the United States.

Co-op and intern programs

Students are considered for co-op opportunities beginning with their sophomore year. A co-op must be able to work three alternating semesters.

AMERICAN hires interns between their junior and senior years of college based on departmental needs.

Co-ops and interns enjoy excellent benefits, including:

• Outstanding pay with increases for additional work terms
• $1,600 housing allowance at the start of each work term
• One day of paid vacation each work term
• Eligibility for scholastic achievement award beginning with second work term

Entry-level manufacturing

AMERICAN recruits candidates for entry-level production work in the Manufacturing Division generally twice each year. Job openings occur in the Ductile Iron Pipe, Melting and Foundry departments.
