Co-op and intern programs
Students are considered for co-op opportunities beginning with their sophomore year. A co-op must be able to work three alternating semesters.
AMERICAN hires interns between their junior and senior years of college based on departmental needs.
Co-ops and interns enjoy excellent benefits, including:
- Outstanding pay with increases for additional work terms
- $1,600 housing allowance at the start of each work term
- One day of paid vacation each work term
- Eligibility for scholastic achievement award beginning with second work term

Entry-level manufacturing
AMERICAN recruits candidates for entry-level production work in the Manufacturing Division generally twice each year. Job openings occur in the Ductile Iron Pipe, Melting and Foundry departments.
