AMERICAN PolybondPLUS® was developed using the latest polymer technology to enhance our knowledge from almost 40 years of success with AMERICAN Polybond lining. AMERICAN Ductile Iron pipe with PolybondPLUS® provides a superior piping system for aggressive sewers and other services. PolybondPLUS® is made with a process developed by AMERICAN that produces a composite lining system consisting of a primer layer of fusion bonded epoxy and an interior surface layer of specially modified DuPont Fusabond® polyethylene. Exhaustive third-party and in-house testing has shown that this lining produces superior performance characteristics. These characteristics include superior: Adhesion Abrasion resistance Impact resistance Chemical resistance Resistance to cathodic disbondment Resistance to permeability Resistance to under-film migration Other PolybondPLUS® characteristics include 60 mils nominal thickness, 100 percent solids with no VOC content, and non-toxicity. The lining extends through the bell of the pipe to a point under the sealing Fastite® gasket. This lining, with its chemically inert polyethylene surface layer and 60 mils nominal thickness, makes it ideal for sewer or other services. The color of the lining provides an increase in reflectance of more than 800 percent compared to typical black linings, which aids in-situ inspection.
